University of Akron Teaching Experience

Following the completion of my Master's degree at Kent State, I spent a year teaching several composition courses at the University of Akron. My experience at the University of Akron was wide-ranging. During the Fall of 2009 I taught three different levels of Composition 111: Honors, Standard, and Summit College). The Honors section was an updated incarnation of the superheros in American culture course that I taught at Kent State University, and the Standard and Summit sections of the course, while opperating from the same initial syllabus, required different approaches. The Summit College at the University of Akron consists mainly of students who are at risk due to low test score and grades and these students needed more work on the revision process and hands-on work on my part. In the Spring of 2010, I taught two standard sections of second level College Composition 112.
